Polyester does not usually dissolve in solvents. We have found a way to dissolve it and turn it into an adhesive.
Polyamides usually have a low heat tolerance. We have found a way to make them withstand high temperatures. Not only do we add new functions to resins, but we also strive to add functions that have previously been impossible to add.The functional resins developed by Toyobo´s design and technology center are used for molding, adhesive and coating materials in automobile parts, parts for electronic devices and many other final applications.
First produced in 1965, Vylon is Japan’s first saturated copolyester resin with a high molecular mass. Highly renowned for its excellent adhesion, durability and high degree of hygiene, it is used as a film adhesive or metal coating in a wide range of fields, including food packaging, electronic devices and automobiles. We have started to receive a large number of inquiries from overseas.
● Amorphous type of VYLON® can be dissolved by methylethylketon, toluene or other general purpose organic solvents.● Amorphous type of VYLON® gives good adhesion to metal, polyester film or PVC film.
● Amorphous type of VYLON® itself gives good formability, and it is cross linkable with melamine, isocyanate and epoxy, etc when tough and durable coating layer is required.
The performances such as weather resistance, corrosion resistance, pigment disperse ability, formability and bending performance can be furnished by using highly advanced polymer designing technology.
VYLON® can be found in paint for coil coating (PCM), can coating, binder for magnetic paint, ink binder and as an adhesive for dry lamination. Additionally, it can also be used as an agent for film surface treatment, coating agent for receptor of recording media, adhesive for vibration damping steel, adhesive for printed circuit board and much more.
VYLOPET® is a polyester resin for injection-molding developed by Toyobo. As a polyester resin, Vylopet has excellent heat resistance, rigidity and chemical resistance.

VYLOPET® has great electrical properties and is therefore used in applications such as automobile parts, electric and electronic parts and mechanical parts, allowing for lighter parts, extensive use of color, more complex designs and favorable value analysis.
GLAMIDE® consists of nylon resins such as 6-Nylon and 66-Nylon effectively reinforced with mineral filler or glass fibers to meet the customer’s needs.
● GLAMIDE® can be used as an alternative to metals or thermoplastic resins.● It satisfies requirements for both ample strength and good appearance.● It can be processed with high dimensional accuracy.● Special grades such as a high melting point 6T Nylon and transparent nylon are available.● Non-halogen origin and flame resistant grades are also provided.
It is used for a wide range of applications including automobile parts, IT devices such as PCs and mobile phones, and household appliances such as rice cookers.
